Beginner? well, not anymore!

What is a beginner? Well, let me say this: A beginner is
a chess player who has been playing chess for less
than a year. However, so is a chess player who has played
longer than a year, but is still Under 1000 USCF rated points.
This past chess season I have train many chess players....
One comes to mind, his name is Michael Dylan Thomas
and all year I have told him and others that he is a beginner
since he is new to chess tournaments this year. Michael
has only played in 10 chess tournaments this season and
his USCF rating is now 1094. Michael is a Royal Knight.
He has won at least 5 Trophies in 10 chess tournaments.
1st place at Martin K~12 U1000 undefeated champion,
3rd place at Garza K~12 U1000, 3rd place at Edinburg's
"Battle of the Minds" tournament. He also scored 5 points
at Regionals ~ Elementary JV section, and 4 points at State.
Michael has achieved all this in 4 months. Beginner or not?
MICHAEL, YOU ARE NO LONGER A BEGINNER.
Now is the time to train harder and longer  to reach your goals.
Michael wants to become a 1700 and soon. I know he will.
Michael I am so PROUD of you. I am honor to be
your teacher, coach, and fan....You bring glory to your
mother, family, school, me, and to the Royal Knights.
