One week before Regionals and the Brownsville Royal Knights
took on one more chess tournament. Garcia Middle School
Chess Tournament was a success. Royal Knights were focus
on victory. The top boards quickly placed themselves
in position to achieve the goal: chekmate.
Winning first place:
Brianna Guillen, Elementary Champion undefeated 5 points
Philip R. Martinez, High School Champion 4.5 points
Jesus Guillen, K-1 division Co-Champion undefeated 5 points
other Royal Knights won 4 of out 5 games:
Sarai Guillen, Primary 4 points, 4th place
Christain Muraira, Elementary 4.5 points 3rd place
Raul Santoyo, K-1 division 4 points 5th place
