Royal Knights Girls' Chess Team Wins World Championship Title

"What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas" NOT!!!
Brownsville girls play chess....
they play the royal game to WIN !!!

The Brownsville Royal Knights traveled to Las Vegas
and stayed at the South Point - Hotel - Casino - Spa .
June 4 - 7, 2009 will forever be an unforgettable and
electrifying event in their career of chess.
The "Under- 11 chess team championships" are:
Brianna A. Guillen, Victoria Mortera,
Sarai Alejandra Guillen and Alexis Marquez.
The chess team code used for this tounament: BR001

1. Brianna---Susan Polgar World U-11 Girl's Champion
won 4.5 points and receives an automatic
qualifying spots to the 2009 Susan Polgar
National Invitational for Girls, the most
prestigious all-girls national championship
in the U.S. All qualifiers will receive free
accommodation and meals during the SPNI,
which will take place on July 26-31 at
Texas Tech University in Lubboc, Texas.

2. Victoria---USCF rating 1215 won 4.o pionts
and took home the 3rd place trophy. She will
also travel to other "OPEN" chess tournaments
this summer.
3. Sarai and Alexis both fought hard and won 2.5
They will continue to improve their game and
complete this summer in local chess tounaments.
